South of Broc, a small town in Switzerland, a new sports campus aims to combine sport activities and leisure time in one harmonious facility. Located at the outskirts of the village, the campus‘ architectural concept is inspired by the surrounding landscape. The overall composition of the flat terrain reflects the linearity of both the river in the west and the road in the east. The mountainous terrain serves as an impressive background and offers fascinating views for athletes and visitors, especially at night. A central square gives access to the area and functions at the same time as a meeting place and a common passage to the various sports venues. Their arrangement – favoured by the flat plot – follows the general principle that all elements are equal. The existing outdoor pool and two football fields will be preserved and integrated into the expansion and redesign of the area. In addition to the outdoor pool, the football fields and tennis courts, the new gym will fundamentally shape the image of the campus and effectively shield it from the nearby access road.
