Located along the Spree River, the historic building once known as the “Eierkühlhaus” is being redesigned into Stralauer ONE, a dynamic, flexible office space. Key to the transformation of the outdoor spaces is a redefined connection to the nearby waterfront. With its sensitive integration into the existing urban fabric, the development enhances both the public and private realms.
A newly proposed tribune area re-establishes the link between the building’s ground level and the water edge, creating an inviting, multi-level gathering space. This dynamic public area is paired with restructured access routes, upgraded seating zones, and thoughtful lighting details that collectively ensure safety and comfort for all visitors.
The rooftop elevates the project further, transforming the roof terrace into a flexible, event-ready space. Here, a balance of lush greenery and contemporary materials offers panoramic views and a versatile venue for both work and leisure. By respecting the existing heritage while embracing innovative design, Stralauer One fosters a vibrant, community-focused atmosphere that honours Berlin’s industrial past and its lively present.
